Winstons Beach Club OB: Shows, Parking & What to Know (2026)

Winstons is Ocean Beach's living room with a stage in it. Live music essentially every night — reggae, jam bands, funk, tribute nights, and local acts — in a room that has looked and smelled the same for decades. Cover is usually under $20 and often under $10.

Upcoming shows at Winstons Beach Club

We don't have confirmed Winstons Beach Club dates on the calendar right now. This room books on short notice, so check the box office listings below — the full season posts there first.

Where to buy tickets for Winstons Beach Club

Box office first (lowest fees), then the primary seller, then resale if the show is sold out.

How the Winstons Beach Club schedule works

    • What books here: Reggae, jam bands, funk, tribute nights, surf rock, local bills. It's a beach bar / live music club at ~250, so the calendar fills with shows confirmed 4–8 weeks out.
    • When dates get announced: most on-sales drop Friday mornings at 10am PT, with a Wednesday-morning presale for email subscribers. Buying in the first 48 hours is almost always cheaper than resale later.
    • Confirm before you go: start times shift, and openers are frequently added within a week of the show. Check the official listing the day of.
    • Getting there: Free street parking (competitive). MTS Route 35 and 923 serve Ocean Beach from downtown and Old Town, but service thins out late, which is a real problem for a venue whose headliner starts at 10pm.

    Parking at Winstons Beach Club

Ocean Beach street parking is free and entirely a matter of patience. The blocks immediately around Newport Ave are full from 6pm onward, especially in summer. The reliable move is to park east up the hill near Sunset Cliffs Blvd or on the residential streets north of Voltaire and walk 5–10 minutes. Beach lots fill by afternoon in summer and are ticketed after posted hours.

    What parking costs

    Free street parking (competitive)

    Transit & rideshare

MTS Route 35 and 923 serve Ocean Beach from downtown and Old Town, but service thins out late, which is a real problem for a venue whose headliner starts at 10pm. Rideshare in and out of OB is straightforward and generally cheap — the practical answer for a night at Winstons.

    Where to stand or sit

    • 1

Standing on the floor in front of the stage — this is a dance room more than a watch-the-band room.

    • 2

The booths along the wall if you want to sit. They go early on a busy night.

    • 3

Near the back bar for conversation and quick drink access.

    • 4

The room is small and loud everywhere. There is no bad spot, only a loud one and a louder one.

    Bag policy

No formal policy. It's a beach bar with a doorman checking IDs. Bags are fine within reason; there's no bag check and no storage.

    Food & drink inside

Full bar with cheap beer and well drinks — this is one of the more affordable venue bars in the city. Limited bar food. Newport Ave two blocks away solves any dinner problem.

Where to eat and drink first

All within a short walk or drive of Winstons Beach Club.

    Hodad's

The OB burger institution. Expect a line and take it anyway.

    OB Noodle House

Cheap Vietnamese and a huge beer list, two blocks over.

    Pizza Port Ocean Beach

Beer and slices on Bacon St, a one-minute walk.

    South Beach Bar & Grille

Fish tacos at the pier end of Newport. The classic OB pre-show.

    Local tips

What this room books: Reggae, jam bands, funk, tribute nights, surf rock, local bills.

    1. 1

Tribute nights are a genuine Winstons specialty and they pack the room. Buy ahead for the popular ones.

    2. 2

Ocean Beach parking is the hardest part of the night. Budget 15 extra minutes or just take a rideshare.

    3. 3

Sunday nights and industry nights often have the best local bills and the cheapest cover.

    4. 4

The venue is 21+ every night. No exceptions.

    5. 5

OB is walkable — make it a full evening with dinner on Newport and the sunset at the pier first.
