Sandi Spots is published by Sleep Coast LLC ("we," "us"). This policy explains what information we collect on sandispots.com, why we collect it, and the choices you have. Questions? Email hello@sandispots.com.
Information we collect
- Information you give us. Your email address if you subscribe to our newsletter or download a guide, and anything you include when you submit a business claim, vote in a reader poll, or contact us.
- Usage data. Pages viewed, referring site, approximate location (city level, derived from IP), device and browser type, collected through Google Analytics.
- Cookies and similar technologies. Described in our Cookie Policy.
We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16.
How we use information
- To operate, secure, and improve the site and our guides.
- To send the newsletter or resources you requested (you can unsubscribe from any email).
- To measure traffic and understand which guides are useful.
- To respond to business claims, corrections, and other messages.
How information is shared
We do not sell your personal information for money. We use third-party services that process data on our behalf or may receive identifiers through cookies — which under California law can count as "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising:
- Google Analytics — site measurement.
- Hosting and backend infrastructure — serving pages and storing newsletter signups, reader votes, and claims.
- Affiliate and booking partners — when you click an outbound partner link, that partner may set its own cookies under its own privacy policy.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights.
Your California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose.
- Request a copy of your personal information.
- Request deletion of your personal information.
- Request correction of inaccurate personal information.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information.
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information (we do not collect sensitive personal information as defined by the CPRA).
- Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
Use the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page to opt out, or email hello@sandispots.com with the subject line "California Privacy Request." We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signals automatically as a valid opt-out. An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf with written permission. We respond to verifiable requests within 45 days.
Retention
Newsletter emails are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Analytics data is retained on Google's standard retention schedule. Messages you send us are kept as long as needed to handle the request.
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encrypted connections and access controls on our database. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Other regions
If you are in the EEA or UK, you may have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection under the GDPR. Email us to exercise them.
Changes to this policy
We will update the date at the top of this page whenever this policy changes. Material changes will be noted on the homepage.
