About Sandi Spots
An independent San Diego travel and lifestyle guide, written by people who actually live here — not aggregated from press releases.
Sandi Spots is published by Sleep Coast LLC, a San Diego–based small publisher. We cover the whole county — La Jolla to Chula Vista, Encinitas to El Cajon — with hand-written guides to neighborhoods, restaurants, beaches, breweries, hotels, and events.
We built this site because most "top 10" lists about San Diego are recycled, outdated, or written by people who have never eaten a taco at Las Cuatro Milpas or paid $60 to park at La Jolla Cove in July. Ours are different.
Locally based
Our editorial team lives in San Diego. Every neighborhood, beach, and restaurant on this site has been visited in person.

Restaurants and hotels can't buy inclusion or rankings on Sandi Spots. Recommendations are editorial.
Editorial standards
- First-hand experience. Every restaurant, brewery, hotel, hike, and beach we recommend has been visited by the editorial team. When we haven't been somewhere ourselves, we say so.
- Sourced facts. Historical pieces, "moving to San Diego" numbers, and event listings link to primary sources — county records, official venue calendars, and published data.
- Updated, not stale. Guides carry a "last updated" date. When a restaurant closes, a beach closes, or a parking rule changes, we update the guide within days.
- Corrections welcome. If something is wrong, email us and we'll fix it publicly.
Who writes Sandi Spots
Sandi Spots is written by the Sandi Spots Editorial team at Sleep Coast LLC — a rotating group of San Diego residents who have collectively lived in La Jolla, North Park, Pacific Beach, South Park, Hillcrest, and Coronado. Between us, we've done Comic-Con every year since 2011, worked the local restaurant industry, surfed every break north of Sunset Cliffs, and can tell you which Balboa Park lot fills up first on a Sunday.
