Del Mar City Beach is a beautiful stretch of North County coastline with clean sand, consistent surf, and a slightly upscale atmosphere. The beach is divided by the river mouth, and the area near 15th Street is the most popular. The views include the Del Mar bluffs and the racetrack in the distance. The surf is good for beginners and intermediates, and the swimming is safe on most days. Parking can be tricky, but the beach is worth the effort.
