Bing Crosby founded it in 1937 — Del Mar's summer meet (mid-July through Labor Day) is the biggest weekly party in North County. Opening Day is a hat-and-cocktail spectacle. Fall meet in November.

Local tip: Opening Day requires reservations 6+ weeks out. Fridays throughout the summer meet are more chill.
