The park itself is free to enter — the parking, gardens, and walkways cost nothing. Individual museums run $10–25 adult. The Balboa Park Explorer Pass ($67 adult, one week) covers 16 museums; the annual pass is $109 and pays off after four visits.
The San Diego Zoo is inside Balboa Park in its northwest corner, but has its own admission ($72 adult), its own parking, and its own gates. You can walk from the museums to the zoo entrance in about 10 minutes.
