Inspiration Point (Presidents Way)
The insurance policy. Huge lot with the free Balboa Park tram looping to the museum area and Zoo every 8–10 minutes. Locals go straight here on busy days.
Zoo lot (Zoo Place)
Fine for museums if you arrive early, but it's the first lot to fill because Zoo visitors take it at 9 AM.
Alcazar / Plaza de Panama area
Tiny lots right in the middle of everything. Great luck if you get one; don't build a plan around it.
Federal Blvd / Florida Canyon
Overflow for December Nights and festival days. The walk back is a genuine climb — fine for adults, rough with strollers.
Sixth Ave street parking (Bankers Hill edge)
Underrated. Park on the Bankers Hill side and walk the Cabrillo Bridge in — one of the best approaches to the park, and you skip the internal traffic entirely.
