    Event-rate lots right beside the park are the most expensive option and the slowest to leave. Parking north of Broadway and walking down, or taking the trolley to Gaslamp, gets you out afterwards far faster.

    The Park at the Park lawn beyond centre field is the cheap way in and a legitimately good place to watch with young kids, who can move around instead of sitting still for nine innings.
    When to go
    Gates open well before first pitch and downtown restaurants fill in the hour before. Eat early or eat after — not in that window.

    The closest structure to the gates. Pre-purchase online is cheaper than drive-up and guarantees a space for a sold-out series. Exiting takes the longest of any option.

    Tailgate Park

    Across Imperial Avenue

    The traditional surface lot southeast of the park, historically the tailgating option. Redevelopment has changed capacity over the years, so check availability when you book.

    Hotel and residential garages

    East Village

    Several nearby buildings sell event parking through apps at a discount to the official lots. Book ahead; day-of rates jump.

    Cheaper and smarter

    Pre-booking a downtown garage typically undercuts drive-up event pricing meaningfully and locks in a space. Do it the morning of the game, not in the car on Imperial Avenue.

    Park north and walk

    Garages eight to twelve minutes north put you in the Gaslamp, which means dinner before and a much faster drive out after — you leave from behind the traffic, not inside it.

    Street parking rules

    Most downtown meters are free after 6pm and all day Sunday, but signage varies block to block and some East Village zones enforce later. Read the pole, not the internet.

    Trolley Green and Orange lines

    Gaslamp Quarter station and 12th & Imperial both sit within a few minutes' walk. Buy a day pass on the PRONTO app; post-game trains run frequently and beat the garage queue every time.

    Rideshare zones

    Designated pickup areas sit a couple of blocks from the gates. Walking north toward Market Street before requesting usually cuts surge pricing and wait time.

    Staying downtown

    If you're visiting, a downtown or East Village hotel removes the parking question entirely — the ballpark is a walk, and so is dinner.
