Almost every downtown hotel charges valet-only rates. Nearby public garages often offer flat overnight rates well below the hotel price — check the garages on 6th, Ash and around Horton Plaza before you commit.
Local tip: If your trip is downtown-only, skipping the rental car entirely usually beats every parking strategy.
Coronado and the beach resorts

Resort parking here is a profit center and there is no cheap alternative nearby. Factor it into the nightly rate when comparing against a Mission Valley hotel plus a short drive.
Airport-area hotels

Several airport hotels sell park-and-fly rates that include a week or more of parking with one night's stay — cheaper than airport long-term lots for a week-long trip.
