The bloom peaks in mid-April, but the early March 'just-emerging' weeks are surprisingly beautiful and far less crowded.
Tickets are timed-entry and sell out on weekends — book online at least a week ahead. Wear closed-toe shoes (the field paths are dusty), bring a hat (zero shade), and arrive early. The 9am opening slot has the best photography light and the smallest crowds. The on-site sweet pea maze, succulent garden, and tractor wagon ride round out a 2–3 hour visit.
