Quartyard San Diego: Shows, Parking & Guide (2026)

Quartyard is an outdoor venue built out of shipping containers on a lot in East Village — part beer garden, part concert space, dog-friendly, and the only room downtown where you watch a band under open sky with a taco in your hand.

Quick answer: Show times vary widely; many events start in the late afternoon. Nearby lots and garages run $10–$20, or take the trolley to Park & Market. It's outdoors and dog-friendly on non-ticketed days. Bring a layer — downtown gets cold after sunset year-round.

    Upcoming shows at Quartyard

We don't have confirmed Quartyard dates on the calendar right now. This room books on short notice, so check the box office listings below — the full season posts there first.

Where to buy tickets for Quartyard

Box office first (lowest fees), then the primary seller, then resale if the show is sold out.

    How the Quartyard schedule works

    • What books here: Indie, hip-hop, electronic, Latin, community events, festivals. It's a outdoor shipping-container venue at ~1,000 outdoor, so the calendar fills with announced tours booked months out.
    • When dates get announced: most on-sales drop Friday mornings at 10am PT, with a Wednesday-morning presale for email subscribers. Buying in the first 48 hours is almost always cheaper than resale later.
    • Confirm before you go: start times shift, and openers are frequently added within a week of the show. Check the official listing the day of.
    • Getting there: $10–$20 nearby lots, free meters after 6pm. Park & Market trolley station on the Green Line is a short walk, and Gaslamp Quarter and City College stations are both under 10 minutes on foot.

    Parking at Quartyard

East Village surface lots and garages within a few blocks run $10–$20, with prices jumping on Padres home nights. Street meters are free after 6pm and on Sundays and are actually findable in East Village, unlike the Gaslamp. Do not park in the residential-permit sections east of 16th.

$10–$20 nearby lots, free meters after 6pm

    Transit & rideshare

Park & Market trolley station on the Green Line is a short walk, and Gaslamp Quarter and City College stations are both under 10 minutes on foot. This is one of the easiest venues in the county to reach by trolley, and post-show departure is painless because the crowd is small.

    Where to stand or sit

    • 1

Standing near the center of the lot facing the stage — the PA covers the space evenly.

    • 2

The elevated container-side areas give a view over the crowd for shorter attendees.

    • 3

Near the food and bar containers if you're there as much for the hang as the band.

    • 4

The rear of the lot near the entrance catches street noise from Market St during quiet sets.

    Bag policy

Relaxed for general operation; ticketed concerts usually restrict to small bags and prohibit outside food and drink. Because it's an outdoor lot, the rules tighten for bigger bookings — check the event page rather than assuming the beer-garden rules apply.

    Food & drink inside

Rotating food vendors operating out of the containers plus a full bar. Beer runs $8–$12, and the food is markedly better and cheaper than typical venue concessions. Cashless.

Where to eat and drink first

All within a short walk or drive of Quartyard.

    The food on site

Genuinely the best pre-show option — just get there early.

    Neighborhood

East Village burgers and craft beer, five-minute walk.

    Halcyon

Coffee and cocktails nearby, good for an early meetup.

    Border X Brewing (Barrio Logan)

Short ride south if you want a real neighborhood beer first.

    Local tips

What this room books: Indie, hip-hop, electronic, Latin, community events, festivals.

    1. 1

It's fully outdoors. San Diego evenings drop into the 50s even in summer — bring a layer, everyone forgets.

    2. 2

Dog-friendly during regular beer-garden hours, but ticketed concerts frequently are not. Confirm before bringing your dog.

    3. 3

Padres home games change downtown parking prices and traffic entirely. Check the schedule.

    4. 4

Come early and eat here. The container vendors are the reason locals show up before doors.

    5. 5

Take the trolley. Park & Market puts you a block away and there's no exit traffic to fight.

    Quartyard FAQ

    Is Quartyard dog-friendly?

During regular beer-garden hours, yes — Quartyard is one of the few downtown venues that welcomes dogs and even has a dog run. Ticketed concerts often restrict dogs, so confirm on the specific event page before bringing yours.

    Is Quartyard indoors or outdoors?

Fully outdoors. The venue is built from shipping containers arranged around an open lot in East Village, with the stage at one end. Shows happen rain or shine, and evening temperatures drop into the 50s year-round, so bring a layer.

How do you get to Quartyard on transit?

Park & Market station on the Green Line trolley is a short walk, and Gaslamp Quarter and City College stations are both under 10 minutes on foot. It is among the most transit-accessible venues in San Diego.

Can you bring outside food to Quartyard?

No for ticketed concerts, which restrict outside food and drink. Quartyard hosts rotating food vendors on site whose food is better and cheaper than standard venue concessions, so arriving early to eat there is the normal approach.
