Zoo overflow / Park Blvd shoulder
City street or shoulder parking rules, posted fees, and enforcement differ from the Zoo-managed lot. Never assume nearby curb parking is free.
Inspiration Point lot
The lower Inspiration Point lot is a backup if open; paid City parking may apply. The Zoo offers a complimentary satellite shuttle on select days, with published operating hours. Member free Zoo-lot parking does not cover this lot.
Organ Pavilion lot
Central Balboa Park. Good if you're combining the Zoo with museums, since you're already parked in the museum core.
Federal Blvd / Florida Canyon lots
Last resort on Founder's Day, holiday weekends, and December Nights. The walk back is uphill after a long day — bring water.
Rideshare drop-off
Uber/Lyft drop right at the entrance plaza. On peak Saturdays this genuinely beats driving, and there's no exit queue at 4 PM.

- • Big event days (Founder's Day, December Nights, holiday weeks) — don't drive at all. Rideshare or MTS Route 7.
- • Adult Zoo members receive complimentary general parking at both Zoo and Safari Park under current policy, but must register their car for the Zoo lot.
