San Diego Concert Venues
The Civic Theatre is where Broadway comes to San Diego — the Broadway San Diego series, the San Diego Opera, big comedians, and touring spectacles all play this 2,967-seat downtown hall. It's the largest performing arts venue in the county, and it behaves like one: book early, arrive early, and know where you're parking before you leave the house.

Transit & rideshare
The Civic Center trolley station (Orange and Blue lines) is two blocks away — the easiest way in from anywhere on the trolley map. MTS buses on Broadway are a block away. Rideshare drop-off on Third Ave backs up hard in the 30 minutes before curtain; get dropped on B Street instead.
Mid-orchestra, rows M–T center — the sound and sightline sweet spot for Broadway shows.
Front mezzanine center — the best value in the house; you get the full stage picture at a meaningful discount to prime orchestra.
Dress circle center for opera — the acoustics favor the upper levels for unamplified voice.
Avoid the far sides of the orchestra past row W; the overhang cuts the top of tall sets.
Bag policy
Small purses and clutches are fine. Large bags and backpacks are discouraged and subject to search. No outside food or drink, no professional cameras, and no recording of any kind during Broadway performances — ushers actively enforce it.
Food & drink inside
Full bars in the lobby with wine, cocktails, and snacks at downtown prices ($10–$16 drinks). Lines at intermission are fierce — order at the bar before the show and ask about intermission pre-ordering. No outside food.
All within a short walk or drive of San Diego Civic Theatre.
The Grant Grill
Classic downtown hotel dining two blocks away — book ahead on show nights.
Tacos El Cabrón
Fast, cheap, and good if you're cutting it close on Broadway.
Rustic Root
Rooftop drinks and share plates, a 5-minute walk.
Bice Ristorante
Old-school Italian white-tablecloth, two blocks away — the dress-up pre-show dinner.
