San Diego Concert Venues
San Diego's only true indoor arena, and the city's home for arena tours that aren't big enough for Petco. It's old — 1966 old — and everyone knows it, but it's also easy to park at, quick to exit, and the lower bowl is closer to the stage than at most modern arenas.

On-site lots run $25–$35 and, unlike most venues, empty reasonably quickly onto Sports Arena Blvd. Overflow lots across the street are often cheaper. This is one of the few big-venue nights in San Diego where driving is genuinely the right call.

Transit & rideshare
MTS routes 8, 9, and 35 serve Sports Arena Blvd; the Old Town Transit Center is a short connection away. Trolley access requires a transfer, so most attendees drive.
Lower bowl sections 1–8, rows 5–15 — the best value-to-view ratio for an end-stage concert.
Center-court lower bowl for a 360 or in-the-round setup.
Floor rows 1–15 only. The arena floor is flat, so anything past row 20 means watching heads.
Avoid upper-level side sections behind the stage; they're often sold as limited view for a reason.
Bag policy
Clear bag policy on most events: clear bags up to 12"x6"x12" or a small clutch. Policies vary by tour — check the event page. No outside food or drink.
Food & drink inside
Standard arena concessions with a few local options. $14–$17 beer, $15–$22 food. Lines during intermission are long; go during the opener.

The floor is flat, not raked. Floor seats past row 20 are worse than lower bowl seats at half the price.
Parking exits quickly here compared to Chula Vista or Petco — one of the arena's real advantages.
It's an older building and the upper-deck sound is uneven. Pay up for the lower bowl if the mix matters to you.
Redevelopment of the Midway District has been discussed for years; the arena is still operating normally in 2026.
Mobile tickets only for most events. Download before you arrive — cell service in the concourse is unreliable.
Lower bowl sections 1 through 8, rows 5 to 15, give the best combination of price and view for an end-stage show. Floor seats are only worth it inside roughly row 15 — the arena floor is flat, so further back you're looking at the backs of heads.
On-site lots run $25–$35 for concerts, with cheaper overflow lots across Sports Arena Blvd. The lots empty faster than most San Diego venues, which makes driving a reasonable choice here.
