SOMA is where San Diego teenagers have been discovering live music for four decades. It's all ages, always, and it's the reason the city has a real punk and hardcore scene. Two rooms — a 2,000-cap Mainstage and a 600-cap Side Stage — mean you can catch a nationally touring band and a local opener bill on the same night.

Free on-site lot, plus the surrounding Midway District has enormous overflow lots. Parking is genuinely a non-issue here, which is rare in San Diego. Exiting onto Sports Arena Blvd after a sold-out mainstage show takes about 15 minutes.

MTS Route 8 and 9 serve Sports Arena Blvd; the Old Town Transit Center is a short rideshare or bus connection. Most people drive here.
Mainstage: the raised area at the back of the room — full sightline, out of the pit, best for parents and anyone over 30.
Mainstage center, 20 feet back from the barricade if you actually want to be in it.
Side Stage: anywhere; the room is small enough that it doesn't matter.
Avoid the barricade unless you're committed — crowd-surfing traffic lands there all night.
Bag policy
Bags are searched at the door. Small backpacks are often allowed but get slower entry. No outside drinks, no re-entry.

Snack bar with pizza, snacks, and soda for the all-ages crowd, plus a 21+ bar area with beer and basic drinks. Prices are reasonable — $6–$9 beer, $5–$8 snacks.
