September through October and again in mid-May are the sweet spots — warmest water, clearest skies, and no marine layer. Avoid Fourth of July week (parking is impossible) and any weekend the Del hosts a private buyout (check 6 months out).

Coronado Beach faces due west with a full horizon sunset. Target 5:30 PM ceremonies May–September and 4 PM October–April. Windsor Lawn at Hotel Del captures the golden light 20 minutes before official sunset — plan the reception dinner to start right after.
