Old Town
The anchor of San Diego's ghost reputation — an 1857 brick house that also served as a courthouse, theater and store, built on the site of a public gallows. It runs its own daytime and evening tours in addition to being a stop on nearly every Old Town ghost walk.

An 1849 Catholic burial ground on San Diego Avenue. Part of it was paved over when the streetcar line went through, and grave markers set into the sidewalk and street mark burials still underneath.

The Kate Morgan story is the most famous ghost legend in the county. The hotel doesn't run a dedicated nightly ghost tour, but its history tours cover it and the grounds are open to walk.
Point Loma
Less commercially toured but heavily storied, especially the lighthouse and the military-era structures around Cabrillo.
Every operator sells out through Halloween, often weeks ahead. If you want a ghost tour in October, book in September.
