San Diego Festivals
Festivals are the easiest way to see a San Diego neighborhood at its best — the streets close, the restaurants spill outside, and admission is often free with pay-as-you-go food and drink. This page tracks every festival we can verify, newest dates first.

Quick answer: San Diego runs festivals year-round, with the heaviest stretch from late spring through October. Street fairs cluster in North Park, Little Italy, Ocean Beach and Adams Avenue; the big music and food festivals land downtown, in Balboa Park and along the bay. The list below refreshes from our event database, so it always shows what is actually on the calendar next.
Pulled from the same San Diego County event database as our weekend, tonight and monthly calendars, then narrowed to this category. Dates and venues update automatically.

Street festivals close the exact blocks you would want to park on. Park several blocks out on a residential street, or take the trolley or a rideshare and skip the loop entirely — festival-day parking is the single biggest complaint we hear.
Most neighborhood street fairs are free to enter and charge per food and drink ticket. Budget the way you would for a night out rather than assuming free means free.
Food lines are shortest in the first 90 minutes. Headline sets are usually late afternoon or evening, so a lunch-then-return plan beats standing in the heat all day.
By attendance, Comic-Con dominates July, followed by San Diego Pride in July and the county fair in Del Mar over the early summer. For neighborhood festivals, the North Park and Ocean Beach street fairs draw the largest crowds.
Most neighborhood street fairs have free admission and charge for food, drink tickets and beer gardens. Ticketed music and food festivals are the exception and usually sell out in advance.
The calendar is busiest from April through October, with a second cluster of holiday festivals and tree-lighting events from late November into December.
