Check whether you need a temporary no-parking permit
In many City of San Diego areas you can arrange temporary curb space for a move, which requires applying in advance and posting signage a set number of hours before. It costs money and takes lead time, but it's far cheaper than a truck that can't get within a block.
Local tip: Call the city's parking or right-of-way office as soon as you have a move date — processing is not same-day.
