Mt. Helix
The amphitheater
A 1925 stone amphitheater built into the summit hosts an Easter sunrise service and occasional events. Otherwise it's open seating for whoever shows up at sunset.
Getting up there
The road up is narrow, one-way in sections, and runs through people's neighborhood. Drive slowly, don't block driveways, and be quiet at the top — residents live within earshot.
Hiking instead of driving
A short trail climbs from the base near Fuerte Drive for those who want to earn it. It's steep and takes 20-30 minutes each way.
