Should you stay in La Jolla or Coronado? Stay in La Jolla if you want walkable restaurants, sea lions, snorkeling and easy access to the north coast; stay in Coronado if you want a wide, calm family beach, the Hotel del and a quieter island feel. La Jolla is closer to the airport-to-north-county corridor, while Coronado is a bridge or ferry ride from downtown.
