The single biggest factor. Before 6am you clear Camp Pendleton and Orange County before the commute builds and arrive for park opening with time for coffee. After 7am, the same drive routinely adds an hour.
Local tip: The 5 through San Clemente and Irvine is the choke point, not the San Diego end.
