Port Brewing and The Lost Abbey share a San Marcos facility and represent two sides of the same coin: bold West Coast IPAs and Belgian-influenced barrel-aged beers. The Mongo IPA is a hop bomb, and the Lost Abbey sours and strong ales are complex and well-regarded. The tasting room is basic, with limited food, but the beer quality is high enough to justify the trip. It is the best brewery for experienced drinkers who want to explore the more intense side of San Diego beer.
