Choose LEGOLAND if your kids are 3–9. Everything about it — height minimums, rides, play zones, Miniland — is tuned for small children. It's the safest bet for that age group.
Choose SeaWorld if your kids are 8+ or you want real rides and animal shows. It has a genuine coaster lineup, is closer to downtown, and is easier to pair with a beach day.

LEGOLAND. The height minimums, gentle rides, and unlimited LEGO play match that age perfectly.
SeaWorld. Manta and Electric Eel are real coasters; LEGOLAND has nothing comparable.

LEGOLAND. The rides, height minimums, and hands-on play are built for that age. SeaWorld works for a 5-year-old but has more content aimed at older kids and adults.
SeaWorld. Manta and Electric Eel are real coasters. LEGOLAND's biggest ride is milder than a Disney coaster.
No. They're 35 miles apart and each is a full day. If you want both, split them across two days and stay in Carlsbad or Mission Bay.
Usually SeaWorld, by $50–$100, especially if you buy online in advance and avoid the dining add-ons. LEGOLAND parking and souvenirs push the total higher.
SeaWorld is on Mission Bay, about 10 minutes from downtown. LEGOLAND is in Carlsbad, 35–45 minutes north.
