Saturday: Balboa Park at a family pace

Breakfast at your hotel, then arrive near museum opening. In dry weather, enjoy a short garden/plaza walk before a two- to three-hour Fleet Science Center visit.
Rain swap: go straight inside the Fleet and choose a dome-film time that works with your children's attention span. Verify film suitability and holiday opening before booking.
Lunch: use the Fleet's Element 8 cafe when open, or pack an easy meal and confirm where outside food can be eaten. Keep a backup snack for queues.
