Five minutes from downtown with views back at the skyline, an honest layout and municipal pricing. There's also a nine-hole course for a quick round. It's the locals' default.
Local tip: The nine-hole course is the best cheap round in the city and rarely needs a long booking window.
Coronado · Bayfront municipal
Flat, walkable and set on the bay under the Coronado Bridge, with green fees that look like a typo next to the view. The catch is availability — locals lock up tee times and the booking window is competitive.
La Jolla · City municipal · Resident card matters
Two cliff-top courses run by the city. The South is the championship venue and the priciest municipal round in the county; the North is cheaper, friendlier and just as scenic.
Mission Bay · Executive course · Night lighting
A short executive course that's lit for evening play — the only real option in the city for golf after dark and a good place to work on wedges.
