The county's best pure bread bakery, milling grain in-house and supplying top restaurants.
Prager Brothers mills much of its own grain and bakes the loaves you'll find on tables at good San Diego restaurants. The sourdough is deeply fermented with a dark crust, and the whole-grain loaves are the best in the county.
Local tip: The Encinitas cafe location has seating; the Carlsbad bakery is more of a pickup counter.
